With the onset of spring, an inspection of the vegetation needs to be carried out. Attention should be paid to overwintering plants and assessing vegetation damage. Spring regeneration, possible ploughing in and new sowing depend on the number of viable plants. Remember to focus on the possible occurrence of pests and timely herbicide treatments. ALMIRO energy for vegetation s.r.o., will help you start off in the right direction by offering several products for plant protection and nutrition this year.
Effective cereal crop protection
The first input to the cereal crop should be regenerative additional fertilisation of the vegetation. Fertilisation promotes regeneration and optimal thickening. The form of fertiliser is chosen according to the current condition of the vegetation, the number of shoots and the date of fertilisation. Most winter cereal crops will have been treated with herbicides in autumn. Nevertheless, some areas will remain ready for spring herbicide applications. Whether you apply the treatment for repair reasons or your chosen technology, ALMIRO offers you a reliable solution in the form of LECTOR Max. A two-component herbicide for spring treatment of winter and summer cereal crops that contains the active substances of florasulam and tribenuron-methyl. The high efficacy on bedstraw and a wide range of other ground-level weeds is very well complemented by the possible product application in Protection Zone II for groundwater and surface water.
Reliable against diseases
High-quality fungicide protection is one basic measure for reducing the extent of damage caused to crops by fungal diseases. Timely fungicide application determines, to a large extent, the final yield and the quality of the yield. ALMIRO has a total of three broad-spectrum fungicides in its range.
ALMIRO®Tebuconazole provides spring protection against phoma rot, brassica alternaria leaf spot, and cylindrosporiosis in winter oilseed rape. As the name suggests, it is a systemic fungicide product with tebuconazole as the active substance. It is characterised by preventive and curative efficacy and is also registered for winter cereals and summer barley. The recommended dosage is 0.5 l/ha.
ALMIRO®Fungicides, a multi-component fungicide product, offers a unique formulation and combination of three active substances—difenoconazole, azoxystrobin and tebuconazole. It is a reliable fungicide against a range of diseases that are important from an economic point of view. It can be used especially against leaf spots, rusts, mildew and brown spot in barley, as well as for the protection of winter oilseed rape against grey mould. The product is applied as a preventive measure or immediately after the appearance of the first signs of disease at a rate of 0.9–1 l/ha.
The fungicide segment concludes with Patel 300 EC. It contains prothioconazole as the active substance, which is considered one of the most effective azoles. Patel 300 EC is a broad-spectrum fungicide with registration for cereals and oilseed rape, the great advantage of which is its use against cereal diseases practically throughout the entire application period. From diseases of culm foot through leaf diseases up to ear diseases. It is applied separately by spraying at a rate of 0.65 l/ha. Patel 300 EC is also an excellent partner for many other fungicides.
For example, the usage with COMMODOR provides an interesting combination. This is a broad-spectrum fungicide containing azoxystrobin as the active substance. It has a long-lasting effect and can prevent the development of a new infection. The product has a strong green effect and is mainly preventive against a wide range of fungal diseases of cereal crops and winter oilseed rape. COMMODOR is applied at the recommended rate of 0.8–1.0 l/ha.
Stop seed cast and wheatgrass
ALMIRO®Quizalofop can be used to combat cereal seed cast and wheatgrass. It is a selective post-emergence herbicide against annual and perennial monocotyledonous weeds. It contains quizalofop-P-ethyl as the active substance and is registered for use in oilseed rape and sugar beet. The product is applied against weed seed cast of cereal crops at a rate of 0.7–1 l/ha, preferably at the stage from the 2nd or 3rd leaf up to tillering. In the case of coach grass, ALMIRO®Quizalofop should be applied at a rate of 2–2.5 l/ha. The product's advantages include its high selectivity, speed of action and application in Protection Zone II for groundwater and surface water.
Successful regeneration
Do not underestimate spring plant regeneration. In many cases, the final yield and quality will reflect how well this step is managed. In early spring, it is essential to focus on promoting root mass growth. A stronger root system means better nutrient uptake from the soil and higher fertilisation efficiency. ALTRON Silver New offers rapid activation of plant growth and development. The combination of supporting substances with various mechanisms of action, macro- and microelements, complex of organic acid and monosaccharides (all stabilised in a colloidal nanosilver solution) makes ALTRON Silver New unique. Its great advantage is its use for all crops and at all plant growth stages. Spring applications, along with fungicides, will positively influence the effectiveness of the pesticides used and promote balanced crop development overall. Foliar application is recommended at a rate of 0.3 l/ha.
It is also important to focus on using sulphur in the foliar nutrition of cereal crops. Due to its thiosulfate formulation, the best results were achieved when ALMIRO®SN Prosulfan liquid fertiliser was applied together with fungicides to winter wheat. ALMIRO®SN Prosulfan is a source of fast-acting thiosulfate and slow-acting elemental sulphur. In addition to sulphur, it contains nitrogen in both ammonium and fast-acting amide forms. ALMIRO®SN Prosulfan should be applied at a rate of 5 l/ha or, in case of two applications, 3 l/ha.
In the case of zinc deficiency, ALMIRO®Zinetic liquid fertiliser offers a quick solution. It is a source of the highly effective acetate-uronium form of zinc. In addition to the immediate delivery of this element, ALMIRO®Zinetic promotes better plant rooting, growth and development. The recommended rate is 0.8 l–1.0 l/ha.
We believe that every grower can choose from our product range and by making the right decision achieve high yields and quality harvests.
